Chokkanathar Meenakshi Amman Temple kalli kottai temple

The temple is said to be of the later Pandya period, roughly about 2000 years old. It is a Shiva (lingam) temple along with goddess with Meenakshi in the Near Paramakudi, Urappuli, Ramanathapuram District of the modern day Tamil Nadu in India, 623701.

According to one input the best known details of the care-takers of the temple is as follows,

Sree sokanathar Meenakshi Amman [ Muthuvarnapuram Muktheeswarar ] Temple is about two thousand years old. My ancestors were Subramanya Gurus (1866-1929) and their successors were Senpakagannu Gurus, Thangasamy Gurus (1890-1959) and their successors were Sankara Subramanya Gurus (1921-1983), Athinarayana Gurus (1930-2000), Krishnamurthy Gurus (1938). -2000) they used to perform pooja and bring charity to Shiva after that the temple reached Sitalam and a Syrian building was constructed near the idols of Swami and a palalaiyam was made there and the pooja is being performed there for a period of time.
